Owned by the same group who run the Black Sheep down on Camberwell New Road, this one differs by being more clearly set out as a bar than a pub. It's certainly a swish affair, and devotees of interior design will no doubt be impressed by the stylish curtains, chandelier and mirror. We paid more attention to the food and drink to be honest, and we weren't disappointed. The cocktails were competitively priced but we stuck to the Black Sheep Bitter (decent) and noted that the choices on the menu looked good value (a quality this one shares with its sister pub). The staff were amiable and the punters - rather more of whom were in attendance than on our previous visit - were also in fine spirits. Not a bar you're going to be able to buy a packet of crisps in, but as redone gastropubs go, this one ain't bad at all.
