picture of Grand UnionOn first entering this one we were a bit suspicious - where was everyone? A quiet pub is all well and good, but this was in the Marie Celeste league. We quickly discovered the answer: everyone was out by the canal. A decent calling card, but has this one got anything else going for it? Well, Fuller's Pride is on tap and the menu was proving popular with the other punters (no surprise given this is the gastro heartlands of W9). Narrowboats occasionally putter past, but any chances of a rural idyll are rather scuppered by the knowledge that the Westway and the bus depot are just over the canal. Still, it's a pleasant enough spot. Just don't go feeding the ducks any Thai fish cakes though...
