This has been a jolly little pub for ages and continues to be so. It does get crowded with tourists and theatregoers, but when the bell goes in the theatres for the next performance the place empties like it had just received a bomb threat, so don't be alarmed if you're suddenly the only people left in the place. It's a Nicholson's pub, so expect decent beer on the hand pumps and an opportunity to try the beer, before you buy a pint. The upstairs room gives some relief from the crowds when it's not being used for food or a private function. This is one of the better pubs in the area.
