White Horse, Peckham  

Not all the pubs in SE15 have been spruced up and gone hunting for a new clientele. At the White House, there's still racing on the big screen, a bulging trophy cabinet and a welcome for members of the community perhaps sidelined by the changes to the other pubs nearby. On our last visit this one was playing host to locals of all ages yet still gave off a welcoming enough air to us non-regulars. It's one where you'll see more patrons driving mobility vehicles rather than pushing 3-wheeled prams. And if rumour is true, a Sunday lunch here is a bit of a bargain.
