Robin Hood, Penge  

Fans of the Sweeney will recognise this as a boozer of a certain type, but it is not as scary as it first appears. The front bar, where you enter from the street, is quite small but friendly. We were hailed immediately with a "What'll it be, gents?", and had the beer brought to our table (about 5 paces from the bar). There is a second bar around the back, somewhat bigger, but reconnaissance was impossible due to the presence of an Ann Summers party. This event required one of the regulars to dress up as the well-known hero, 'Supershagger', for the ladies' entertainment; much shrieking ensued. Beer is fairly standard session ales or lagers. We didn't notice any food on offer. As far as entertainment goes, there is a cribbage league pinned to the wall. All in all, a sound local pub.
