The Star Inn, Waldron
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Star Inn is a cosy old boozer, tucked away in a little village not far from the Lewes Road. It's pretty well known in these parts and is a favourite spot for Sunday lunching. Lewes is not too far down the road from here, so it should come as as no surprise that the beer on the hand pumps is Harvey's, although there are guest beers too - and there's the usual lagers, wines spirits if real ale's not your thing. With the recent arrival of a new chef, the menu has moved upmarket and jolly nice the food is too, a welcome mix of modern and traditional. With its oak beams and old floorboards, wood panelling and two log fires, the Star Inn is a warm, welcoming place, the atmosphere is pretty relaxed, and regulars pop in and out throughout the day to have a beer or two and a natter. It's the sort of pub that you'd like every village to have at its heart.

We went to this pub last sunday and the service was terrible. We had a 3 course meal and in total it took us 3 hours. took 1.5hrs for the main course to come out.
Also the starters had a hair in it. All the portions were small aswell.
When we asked about why there was a delay they said it was because a lot of people were ordering food. The restaurant was empty and there were about 4 tables in the garden.
I stood at the bar waiting to get served and the waitress came over and said 'did you want to say something' which isn't very polite or professional at all.
We didn't get a discount for the hair or the wait and the portions were small and cold.
Needless to say - we wont be going back in a hurry.
