The White Horse, Oxford
FancyaPint?'s review...
Like much of Oxford, the White Horse is truly old - the tiny rooms, low ceilings and narrow doorways indicate its medieval origins. Unlike some other pubs in Oxford, the publican is friendly to visitors, the atmosphere is relaxed and there are no glossy overtones of corporate ownership. The walls are decorated with athletic team photos from Oxford's many colleges, not adverts. It's just behind the New Bodleian Library so, probably unsurprisingly, it is a favourite of students wishing to ease eyestrain with a few pints of good ale in a warm cosy atmosphere. For those ale drinkers, the selection on tap is pretty good, featuring Old Mill, St. George, St. Austell Tribute, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Wychwood Hobgoblin and Brakspeare. If you're looking for a decent pint and don't mind a few students, give it a go.

How to find the The White Horse pub
From the station: turn left out of the station toward the city centre and colleges. Cross over the river and follow the road round into Worcester Street, then bear right into Beaumont Street. At the end of Beaumont, take the second right into Magdalen Street East and then left into Broad Street. The pub's ahead on the right at the corner of Broad and Catte Streets, beside Blackwell's bookshop and across the street from the Sheldonian Theater.
