Sir Ralph Abercromby, Manchester
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Sir Ralph Abercrombie is a lively city centre pub which seems to cover most bases pretty well. The side streets which lead off the main throng of Deansgate, with all the horrors that can offer, can offer a more traditional type of pub. This one is no exception. Still, we wondered if people here are more well behaved due to Bootle Police station being sat right next door? Either way, there are ales-a-plenty and a number of different areas to explore, all kitted out in a traditional style, with some original features still remaining. On our early Saturday evening visit, the room at the back which housed the pool table was colonised by a group of biker-types, while elsewhere there was a mix of after-shoppers and groups warming up for the evening. Despite the bustle, service was quick and efficient and we would happily return here again next time we're in the area.
