Crown & Anchor Hotel, Manchester
FancyaPint?'s review...
Very traditional outside, this one's a bit of a surprise when you get inside - they've had the decorators in and the result is pretty good overall. It's warm, welcoming and one to look out for. Friendly staff, good beer (if unsurprising) on the four hand pumps, decent pub grub menu - and you can even stay here, as they offer bed and breakfast accommodation. They do cater for sports fans, with the big screen telly and they show all the big events. The Sunday lunch looks good, but then any menu with Spotted Dick on it usually gets our attention. It's kid friendly and seems to serve the local community well. And it's enough off the beaten track to avoid transient traffic. Give it a go.
