Kinnerton Street is a quaint little street hidden away in the depths of Knightsbridge. It's the sort of street that wouldn't look out of place in the centre of a sleepy hamlet in the West Country or the Cotswolds. Naturally, in such a street you'd expect to find a pub or two and you'll be pleased to hear that there are indeed a couple of decent pubs and one of them is the Wilton Arms. Nowadays it's a Shepherd Neame pub so you can be pretty sure the beer is up to scratch and the food's not bad either - a wide variety of pub grub on the blackboard available most of the week (but not weekends). However, the downside is this is an affluent area, so things are pretty pricey (this is where the village analogy falls down) so an extended session is, unfortunately, only for the well-heeled. The service is prompt and friendly and there's a usually a good mix of people - although most are visitors rather than locals. It's a decent enough pub and because others in the area might attract a lot more attention, at busy times of the day you stand a good chance of getting a seat here. And, as the nearby pubs don't have TVs, this is the one that attracts the crowd needing a football fix.

In this pub I ate an excellent fish and chips. Very friendly staff.

Head right out of tube along Knightsbridge, turning right down Wilton Place. First right will take you on to the quiet mews of Kinnerton Street The Wilton Arms will be in front of you.
