A very fine old fashioned corner pub, inside a little smaller than it looks from the outside, but with a stunning Victorian interior - all etched mirrors, intricate tile work and two fires (the recently repainted exterior manages to even add to the grandeur). Thankfully the fare matches the setting - well-kept Fullers ales, a large, well-priced menu and friendly service. Also of note are the rooms upstairs, a function room that resembles the library of a Gentleman's Club and a bar built from the décor of the demolished Gaiety Theatre's bar (allegedly). Sure, it's plush and opulent but there's still a local pub feel to the place and everyone is made to feel welcome. This part of London has some quality pubs, but this one is the pick of them for us.

Wunderschönes victorianisches pub!
Lage: sehr gute Anbindung mit Nähe zum Bahnhof Paddington bzw. Central Line (Marble Arch).
Ambiente: wirklich sehr, sehr schönes Pub aus der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts mit hübschen Spiegeln, dunklen Holzintarsien und Bildern aus victorianischer Zeit. Im Obergeschoss befinden sich noch zwei weitere Bars mit zusätzlichen Sitzmöglichkeiten.
Essen: sehr leckeres, umfangreiches Angebot mit großen Portionen, die wir auch mit einer größeren Gruppe von über 15 Personen zügig bekommen haben.
Das Personal: ist sehr freundlich und kompetent.
Alles in allem ist dieses Pub sehr zu empfehlen!

Visited for the first time at 'early doors' this evening. What a cracking little pub - good selection of Fullers beers, decent menu, very friendly staff, quick service, great atmosphere - and only five minutes' walk from Paddington!

Awesome food and ales. We had a the fish pie, curry chicken, and sausage and mash. All were good. Also enjoyed the atmosphere.
