First impressions of the new-look Talbot are good. It's got decent beer although only Deuchars was on when we were in last and very tasty it was on a sunny afternoon. Friendly and efficient staff and a promising menu. It's had a lick of paint and some new furniture as well as a change of management and it's pleasant enough. We don't remember the bar being so prominent - it seemed more open last time (although that doesn't mean much if we'd been drinking). Some tables were still set for lunch when we got there, but that didn't seem to be stopping anyone just having a drink. It's got tellies liberally spread with the promise of sport. Comfortable-enough beer garden within shouting distance of the busy Grosvenor Place. A bit of a haven in this neck of the woods, it does, rather unsurprisingly we must admit, attract local workers at lunch and commuter times.

I'm back in London and I found this site looking for the pubs phone number. I was there at the end of May and had a great night, the staff are cool, nice atmosphere outside with bench seats and fantastic live music inside. So Hasta la vista baby. I'll be back.

Hi there,

we here at The Talbot would just like to make everyone aware of the fact that the Talbot review is still an old one. While the outside still looks the same we had a complete refurbishment of the inside and would love for everybody to come and check it out as we went from an old looking pub to a new classy and modern look and are not only attracting the every day work crowd but also our lovely residence. We have a new menu and can guarantee that all our dishes are fresh and homemade every day. Also I can assure you you would want to stay for more than a couple of pints!! :) Also we are getting two brand new screens installed for the beautiful world cup game of 2010.. We are looking forward to seeing you here at The Talbot!!
