The Flask, Hampstead
FancyaPint?'s review...
One of the Wells & Young's pubs to undergo a recentish refit, the changes here actually haven't been as dramatic as in other old Young's pubs, mostly due to the elegant partition which separates the pub into two distinct bars remaining in place. The smaller 'public' bar to the left of the partition was always more of a traditional drinking area to the 'saloon' to the right, and this feel has definitely been maintained along with the lovingly preserved interior (and that's not always the case). Whilst more emphasis is now placed on the quality of the food served here, there hasn't been any discernible drop in the quality of the beers served. This one will still prove a popular spot for locals and visitors to Hampstead alike, and when we last looked in was proving popular with local parents with their prams (a delight to some, a hindrance to others).
