The Doric Arch, Euston
FancyaPint?'s review...
Once called the Head of Steam, the Doric Arch has settled down into as solid a pub as its predecessor ever was. The refit was on the benign side of things, and even though the owners changed (this one's now run by Fuller's) the reliance on guest beers remained. Also, the old pub's railway memorabilia remains (even if it does appear to have been slightly rearranged). Always a beery, blokey sort of place, the Doric Arch is still a safe bet should thirst get the better of you whilst you're waiting at Euston Station. It's likely to face some stiff competition on the ale front now, with the opening of the nearby Euston Tap

I'm a fairly regular visitor because I love the beer and appreciate the sport on the tele (the railway nostalgia does nothing for me, though you do see people getting aroused at the sight of it!). Sadly the commitment to the guest beers is less passionate than it was (there might be a long list, but the beers actually in stock at any one time are much fewer than they were). Still a good place, but on a gentle downward drift, in my opinion.
