The Angel, Old Street
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Angel is a traditional style boozer, sat on the Square Mile side of Old Street roundabout. Being on the periphery between the council estates of City Road, the offices down towards Moorgate and the trendy bastion of Hoxton, it has a mixed crowd, from locals to city workers. You'll find a compliment of popular brand ales, to accompany the usual lager supply and food is served at lunchtimes. Service is also friendly and the atmosphere pretty comfortable, so long as you avoid the couple of hours immediately after-work. The number of plasmas screen for sport was a little overbearing, but all-in-all this is a solid and dependable pub.
