The Alibi, Dalston
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Alibi is a decent late night basement bar in the perpetually up-and-coming Dalston area. From the italic, neon logo outside, there is a definite late 80s theme going on, presumably for the benefit of those who weren't alive back in the mists of ancient times. Saying that, we expected more spider plants and mirrors decking out the decent sized space and there was a distinct lack of Taboo or Bolls to choose from - just an average selection of modern booze. Is the film night, showing the Steven Seagal vehicle "Out for Justice" (rated 5.5 on IMDB) going a little too far in the irony stakes? Still, the service was decent and everyone was having a good time, beginning to fill up the tiny dance floor by the time we left. There is no entry charge at any time here, so expect it to get busy after about 11pm.
