Hidden right on the edge of one of the most exclusive areas of London, from the outside this Young's pub looks like a 1960s suburban family house. In tune with the area, however, there is an appropriately tasteful interior: subtle lighting, stained floorboards and Victorian prints on the wall. The lunch menu too, although inexpensive, clearly aims at the more upmarket office workers and residents - the goats cheese was a giveaway there. But for all this upmarket effort they seem to be attracting a friendly bunch of people from the local estates in Pimlico instead, along with a few people from the nearby Chelsea Barracks. As such, the atmosphere is more reminiscent of a friendly local's boozer than anything else. We've yet to witness the place on a Friday night, but its quite possible this could be one of the better, less touristy, venues in the area.
