A tiny, tiny pub that's been here a long time. You can expect decent, well-kept beer, a quite nice olde worlde décor with theatre posters on the walls, a dining room upstairs, and a huge throughput of clientele (who always seem to be on their way somewhere else). However, it's not a bad place at all, being a cosy little spot in the depths of winter and a handy one for a seat outside in the summer. It shares a space on Cosmo Place with two restaurants and another pub and it's a bit of a touristy area, so if you do chance an al fresco pint, be prepared to be serenaded by chancers with accordions. The name, as you'll know doubt find out if you take the time to read the plaque outside, comes from the time of King George III (yes, the mad one). He apparently stayed nearby under the care of his doctor and his consort, Queen Charlotte rented the cellar beneath the current pub to store delicacies to help his recovery. Intriguing history aside, there's still a decent boozer at work here.

Lovely pub but the staff are oftentimes inattentive and downright rude.

I've been to the Queen's Larder a few times. Very nice pub.

From Russell Square tube, turn left and walk to Russell Square, turn left and walk past Guilford Street on your left to the next alley way you come to on your left (Cosmo Place). Turn left along it and walk towards the square, the pub is on your left. From Holborn tube, walk up Southampton Row, across Theobalds Road and turn right into Cosmo Place (the first alley you come to on your right).
