Pineapple, Tufnell Park
FancyaPint?'s review...
We can't really fault this pub, whatever its history. It is currently being well looked after and we always have a good time here, whenever we show up at this hidden gem. The bar staff are exceptionally friendly, the locals are welcoming and the choice of beers is excellent. The pub even has the occasional beer festival. The décor is tasteful and in many places quite interesting (you may use words such as cornice and architrave now), and there are real fires in the winter. For the summer there is a courtyard out the back or, in the unlikely event of there being some rain, a conservatory. For those seeking additional stimulation there are board games, or on a Monday night there is the quiz - reputed to be the toughest in London, and we certainly scored poorly! The only minor quibble we have is that the menu is slightly expensive and - well - Thai food is just a little bit commonplace these days. We hanker after some sturdy British sausages.
