Master Gunner, St. Paul's

This pub is almost the last working remnant of the Paternoster Square disaster (there are a few shops on the other side of the block). Its tatty exterior hints at a probably short life expectancy, yet it still clings on. It's yet another feeble attempt to gentrify a tactless pile of concrete - wooden tables and chairs and a few knick-knacks of pseudo-military faux-antique origin. The staff are friendly and serve the usual Youngs stuff. Food is a bit iffy. Prices reflect it's prime tourist location.

Demolished when the old Paternoster Square was replaced by the slightly less repellent development that stands there now.
