Set in a genteel part of Ealing a stone's throw from Ealing Hospital, this is a very comfortable traditional boozer. The staff are friendly and serve well kept London Pride, amongst other beers. There is a dartboard (and darts team), a garden and the food is good too. I can't vouch for the live music which is advertised (it looks like the tribute singer style rather than the Beastie Boys) but there appear to be many events going on. The sort of pub you would love to have as your local.

How to find the Dolphin pub

It's not easy to get to by tube, but from Ealing Broadway, take a 207 bus along the Uxbridge Road (towards Uxbridge). After about 10 minutes you will see Lower Boston Road on your left (ask the driver to let you know when the stop for Ealing Hospital comes up). If you walk down Lower Boston Road, you'll find the pub on the left by the village green.
