The Cross Keys is a quaint, popular (especially with the media crowd hereabouts) little pub, on the periphery of Covent Garden, that does a good job of being a welcoming hostelry. Unlike many places in the area, The Cross Keys is pretty much unchanged over the years - the leafy, ornate exterior a familiar sight for the last few decades. There are some pretty good ales on the five hand pumps - Brodies being well represented in the current selection - and a pretty standard range of supporting beers, Guinness & Staropramen etc on tap. The food is typical pub grub and the service nowadays is very good. There's a friendly, buzzy atmosphere and the subdued lighting and vast array of knickknacks and, pictures and paraphernalia all add to the charm - and if you're a Beatles fan, you'll love the memorabilia displayed over the bar. Sometimes, it's a little too popular for our liking - it's almost always crowded, especially in the evenings towards the end of the week, which tends to diminish the appeal, but it's certainly relaxing place to pass a Saturday afternoon and there's a decent Sunday lunch. If you're visiting Covent Garden, make sure The Cross Keys is on your itinerary.

This pub appears to have improved. There are 5 ales on tap (4 Brodies, an East London brewery), and the staff seem perfectly pleasant and seem to remember a face even though I've only been a couple of times. The Sunday roast looked particularly tidy (and cheap), as well.

What a shame this pub employs the rudest bar staff I have come across in a while.

Customer service is non-existent, which considering the current economic climate is essential. Otherwise a charming environment.

Turn right out of Covent Garden tube and walk along Long Acre until you get to the junction with Bow Lane and Endell Street. Turn left up Endell Street and the pub is about two hundred metres up on the street on the left.
