It's had a makeover and if anything is even more bar-like than before while still maintaining a certain quality that is missing from a lot of the local drinking spots. While the area around Victoria station has a pretty poor choice of quality drinking establishments - standing in an overcrowded Wetherspoon filled with unimaginative commuters and tourists doesn't quite cut it for us, if truth be told. However, if you hanker after a more sophisticated environment, then the Club Bar - situated in the Thistle hotel - might just be the place. Prices are correspondingly higher, but sometimes you pay for what you get and the even if the beer range is average, the (table) service and ambience may make up for it.
