Bloomsbury Tavern, Bloomsbury
FancyaPint?'s review...
This pub is one that most shoppers and tourists in London will have spotted, being a distinctive, handsome, late Victorian pub, in the busy area, just to the north of theatre land and on many a bus route, and it hasn't changed in years - good. The fare is Shepherd Neame's usual range of beers (a good thing in our view) and there's a decent wine list should you feel so inclined. The service is fast, polite and friendly and there's Shepherd Neame's pub grub too. It's a rather small place but there is another room upstairs where you can usually find extra space. The TVs are usually showing some sporting event or another, but it's not very obtrusive. It's a handy refuelling stop betwixt shopping and a night out at the Theatre. (closed Sundays)
