Fascinating as its history is, few great watering holes still survive on the 21st century King's Road. And whilst Album - a modern bar & kitchen just north of said street - ain't going to win any prizes, it does offer a decent alternative and more chance of a seat, than most of the other pubs and bars nearby. It's part of the - awful pun alert - Faucet Inn pub group, and sticks to a tried and tested formula of soft furnishings, familiar drinks on the pumps and modern pub grub on the plates. Odd too, that very little is made of its name: perhaps somewhere Album is the name for a cracking little DJ bar, not the rather by-the-numbers venue that this one is. So not a place to make a beeline for if you're not in the area, but if you're in this neck of the woods and looking for somewhere that does the basics, then this one's definitely worth considering popping into.

Another one that's under scaff - probably dead.
