The Cricketers has the perfect location right on the water's edge in the heart of Stamford Green conservation area - a truly idyllic spot to commune with the ducks over a pint on a fine summer's day. But that's it really, there's not much else to the place. It's an attractive enough building with split level bars, Ember Inns usual wide range of draught beers and lagers and upmarket formula food - but there is just no character, as if the very walls and beams feel there is no way the interior can compete with the glorious exterior, so why bother? An unwelcome oddity was that wine by the glass cost a third more than in other Ember Inns nearby.

How to find the The Cricketers pub

Exit right from Epsom station, past the car park and down to High Street and turn right. High Street becomes West Hill after a couple of hundred yards and then, after about another 500 yards, take the left up Stamford Green Road and you will see the pub on your left.
